Friday 21 March 2025

We are delighted that Ami Charlize, the podcast host, author, influencer and entrepreneur is taking part in the BDA's virtual Everest Expedition!

鈥淚鈥檓 doing the Everest challenge to prove that obstacles, such as Dyslexia, can be overcome with belief in yourself and determination.
Dyslexia can make easy tasks feel like a mountain and I want people to know that we鈥檙e climbing it together!鈥
At the 91大神 (BDA), we know that for many young people with dyslexia, revising for exams feels like climbing a mountain - one that others seem to scale without struggle.
Research has shown that whilst many children experience stress during exam times, students with dyslexia experience it to a greater degree.
Will YOU help these young people conquer their own challenges by taking on an extraordinary virtual adventure of your own and join Ami by climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest from the comfort of your own home, garden of office - all whilst showing your support for young dyslexic people as they begin revising for their exams?
How You Can Get Involved:
- Measure your elevation: Climb a total of 8,848 meters during the challenge dates.
- Count your steps: Walk, jog, wheel, or even cartwheel your way to 58,070 steps during the challenge dates.
The challenge runs from 5th May to 24th June.
Raise at least 拢100 and you'll receive a special medal in the post as a thank you for your dedication!

Free resources
In preparation for this year's exams, we are providing vital resources to young people and parents, which not only provides exam tips and support with revision but also address how to build self-confidence and self-esteem as young people begin to prepare for their exams. Our webinars and resources are free for all.
Thank You
Your fundraising will help support the BDA in:
- Providing learning tools and resources
- Offering support and guidance for students during exam periods
- Raising awareness and advocacy for dyslexic students in schools
Your efforts will not only help raise vital funds allowing us to provide essential support and resources for dyslexic students to thrive but also bring attention to the struggles that dyslexic students face during exam preparation. This year, we are providing vital resources and toolkits to parents and educators, which not only provide support with revision itself, but also address how to build self-confidence and self-esteem as their young people prepare for their exams.
Together, we can help make sure that every student gets the support they deserve.
